Our Staff

Glenbrook Day Camp benefits from the expertise of dedicated and experienced full-time staff:

Ron Shantz
Executive Director, Willowgrove - Ron arrived in August 2009. Ron has a long history with Willowgrove through Fraser Lake Camp, originally as a camper and then continuing through the ranks of summer staff throughout his school years. Ron and his wife Joyce, have two adult sons, Kyle and Brandon.

Lara Feasby
Co-Director, Glenbrook Day Camp - Lara graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University in 2008 with a degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education. She pursued her education and graduated from the University of Toronto in 2009 with a Bachelor of Education. Lara has been at Glenbrook since 2002 and has served as counsellor, program staff, division head, and program director. She currently teaches grade 2 in the York Region Board of Education.

Kristen Gage
Co-Director, Glenbrook Day Camp - Kristen graduated from Trent University in 2010 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Geography and Psychology. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Education at Queen's University (2010-2011). Kristen has been at Glenbrook Day Camp since 2005 and has served as a counsellor, special needs counsellor, special needs coordinator and camper services director. Kristen lives in Whitby.

Many of our staff have a long-standing history at Glenbrook and came up through the ranks as campers, Counsellors-In-Training (C.I.T.) and then became counsellors, lifeguards, resource staff and supervisors.

All members of our staff are chosen for their genuine interest in children. Many are college or university students aiming to work with children in some capacity as a career. Everyone on the aquatic staff is fully certified and our small staff to child ratios allow for excellent supervision and safety.

Staff is on site throughout the year during business hours. Tours can be arranged on an appointment basis. Please contact us for more information.
