Job Application, Interview & Hiring Process

If you are interested in working at Glenbrook Day Camp for the summer, please review the positions available before submitting your application.

If you have never worked at Glenbrook before, please complete the New Staff Application form online or download the forms and mail them in to us.

If you have worked at Glenbrook before, please complete the Returning Staff Application online or download the forms and mail them in to us.

Please ensure that you complete the entire application. Applications not properly and fully filled out will not be considered for a position.

Once the application has been received, you can expect to receive a follow up e-mail or call regarding the application within two (2) weeks of submitting it online or three (3) weeks of mailing it in. An interview may be set up at this time to discuss a position further. When making an interview appointment, please ensure that you have transportation to get to the Camp Office. We are not on a public transit route. Interviews are approximately 1/2 an hour in length.

A position may be offered after a successful interview and references have been checked.

If you are offered a position, you will receive a copy of the Summer Staff Agreement by postal mail or e-mail. You need to sign a copy and return it to the office within ten (10) business days in order to accept the position. Keep a copy for your records. After this point, you will be asked to provide Glenbrook Day Camp with a copy of a Criminal Background Check, to be obtained at the applicants' expense from their local police department. More details regarding this to follow at the interview.

Important Training Dates are listed below. All staff is expected to attend the Training Dates that apply to their position. You will be informed of exactly which dates you are expected to attend.

2009 Staff Training Schedule:

All training events are mandatory.

  • Climbing Training:
    • Dates in June to be announced.
  • New Staff Training: Saturday, June 13, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Counsellors working with Special Needs campers: Training dates to be announced.
  • All Staff Training: Tuesday June 23, 9 a.m. - Thursday June 25, 2009, 4 p.m.

Important Dates:

  • 1st day of camp: June 29, 2009
  • No Camp: August 3, 2009
  • Last day of camp: August 21, 2009
